This was our first time as a family on on airplane all together. I think the kids were a little nervous but it really went great. The boys have both flown in smaller planes, for fun, but this was quite different.
Thomas waiting at the airport.
About to board the plane.
This was the view of Las Vegas from the air. We landed in Las Vegas really late so we took a little stroll down the strip to check out the lights. I have to say, it was an interesting experience. I think and hope that my kids were oblivious to a lot of the things. I think they were mostly amazed at the neat hotels and lights everywhere.
We spent the next morning goofing off a little and walking to a few places.
Carter was so upset that he wasn’t tall enough to ride the big roller coaster. If he had his choice, he would have sat and watched it all day. We ended up at my favorite place of the day..the M&M store. It was a huge 4 floor building. If you didn’t know, M&M’s are my absolute, all time, favorite candy. This place was full of every thing you can imagine.I could have stayed all day in this one store, seriously. Then, we found the most exciting floor of all, one where you could pick out your own M&M’s. I can’ believe that I let the kids get some of their own, and I didn’t get any for myself. Huge mistake. Here is the fam looking out the window in the store. Then, we walked down to MGM to see the lions being fed. This is at the Venetian. It was absolutely beautiful in this area of the hotel.
You could take gondola rides in the hotel.I snapped this picture of the painted ceiling above me.
We took the kids over to the amusement park at Circus Circus, but it really wasn’t that impressive at all. The kids did enjoy the clown though. We also went to see the Lions and Magic of Rick Thomas show. Camden and Thomas both were called on the stage to participate with some of the magic tricks. I wish that I had pictures to show but they wouldn’t allow cameras to be used in the show. It was a neat show, one of the few that a family could go to.
They had a water fountain show every so often at the Bellagio hotel. We took a little ice cream break and watched the beautiful fountains before we went in for the night.
I will say, that this was my least favorite part of our trip, for many reasons, that I won’t go into. It was neat to see for the first time but not sure that I ever want to go back. It really is exactly what they say… “Sin City.”
chesley - so are you loving that lens?!! i don’t like vegas either – i’ve been twice without kids & don’t care if i ever go back, but i do love your pictures :)!
admin - Hey Chesley…yes, I loved the lens! I hate it that I don’t actually own it….really wish I did. If you ever rent a lens make sure you get the insurance on it. I dropped in and broke it!!! Just realized that I don’t have you linked at the top…going to do that now. 🙂
Kera - Awesome pics! I can’t wait to see the rest of them-especially from the big WIN!
I spotted Thomas pretending to read while on his BB. So funny!
Also-I feel the same way about New Orleans-I had to go once for work and decided that I would never go again! I don’t want to be caught there when the Lord comes back!!!!
admin - Kera- Ha! You’re right…didn’t notice Thomas doing that. AND…I know exactly what you mean!!! I would NOT want to be there when the Lord comes. I definitely said a few prayers after we got out of there. 🙂
Anna - I love your new blog…and the pics! I’m not dying to go to Vegas, but the pics are still great! Can’t wait to see the rest! 🙂
jennifer - I AlWaYs LOVE seeing all of your pictures!! Looks like your trip got off to a great start, cant wait to see the rest of the pics =)
